Pleasant-Grove Won Gold Medal
I'm a bit of an Olympic fan (okay-so when they're on I'm glued!) Since Medal was born so close to the
2010 Olympics, her name seemed appropriate. Craig has been a family friend for a long time, and I knew
I wanted a doe from his famous Pleasant-Grove herd. After traveling with him to the Sacramento 2009
National Show, he had brought a group of 3 three year-olds with him. Magnet was easily my favorite,
and Craig allowed me to show her! Her mammary system is near ideal, and then I learned that she had
appraised 91 EEEE! So when Magnet was bred to All for Won I had to have this doe! All for Won is a son
of SGCH Winseeker (93 EEEE), the 2008 National Champion and Best Udder! His sire, Elander is a son of
SGCH Elendili (92 EEVE)-one of the most prolific and prominent does in the des-Ruhigestelle herd!
Medal made the trip from Iowa, and the second I saw her I was speechless. She is everything I could have
imagined she would be, as she's tall, long, wide. She has wonderful dairyness, but strength of bone to
sustain, and her escutcheon is high and wide. I look for this doe to continue the winning tradition that the
Pleasant-Grove Saanens are known for!
Medal's first show of 2010 was the ADGA National Show. She placed 4th in the Sr kid class-the class that
had the Jr Champion! I am extremely pleased with her, and simply cannot wait for the future of this doe!
She went to her first club show, the ODGA Buckeye Classic, where she was shown in both rings, and was
2x 1st, and 1x Res Jr Champion.
Unfortunately, Medal has not cooperated with attempts to breed her to a Saanen, so she's bred to Frostbite.
